I've studied Pimsleur units 1-15, and 31-37, so I'm familiar with it, but can't say I've taken full advantage of that program. Superior by the end of the course (unit 55). I only recommend Pimsleur if your local library has it to lend.

With other supplemental studies, I think I'll be be towards the high end of the Platiquemos proficiency chart.

I've gone through unit 30 (level 4 Platiqueos) and am doing a review that makes me comfortable with units 1-20. Similarly, the Platiquemos proficiency chart in the link above suggests the complete Basic course can take one to somewhere between Advanced and Superior, depending on how thorough they study.ДЇrom reading the ACTFL descriptions in, I think the Platiquemos chart is probably very accurate. Which suggests Programmatic Spanish is a 250 hour course one may expect to get somewhere between Intermediate Low and High depending on how careful they are in their studies.
